oshkosh INSTEP4LIFE 3-day CHALLENGE
Find out how your club ranked among the nearly 170 clubs who participated. The first 10 clubs got a gold medal for its members, a $500 check and a trophy. The next 10 (among 20 top clubs) got a silver medal for its members, and the next 10 clubs (among 30 top clubs) got a bronze medal for their participanting members.

DAY 1 - Wednesday August 13, 2014 - 5K Run/Walk
The 5k run/walk event is the first of the three InStep4Life 3-Day Challenge events offered to you by Health Ministries at the North American Division. We welcome you all to Day #1 of this wonderful event, and hope that you will participate with a happy heart. Each participant will count 1 point towards their club, regardless of winning. Pathfinders and club staff can participate and win points for their club. For tips on how to best train for the 5K Run/Walk, download our training guide.

DAY 2 - Thursday, August 14, 2014 - Boot-Camp Challenge
Participants will test their muscular strength and endurance, and take part in three exercise challenges on Day #2. These challenges include the maximum number of push-ups, sit-ups, and burpies per minute. Each club must choose 1 person to represent them in each challenge (male or female). Each participation will count 1 point towards their club. This event is great for verbal encouragement, so do not be shy to cheer on your favorite individuals and teams! Winners will gain extra points. Pathfinders and club staff (depending on availability) can participate and win points for their club. DAY 3 - Friday, August 15, 2014 - 1 Mile Run
On Day #3 you will be participating in a 1 mile race. Each team can have as many people participating. Again, each participant will gain 1 point towards their club. See below for awards for participants and clubs. Pathfinders and club staff can participate and win points for their club. INDIVIDUAL AND CLUB PRIZES 

Day 1 - 5k Race

Individual prizes:
Top 3 overall (male and female) will win trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the 5K race by the following age categories : <13 yo, 13-15 yo, 16-18 yo, 19-34yo, 35+yo (30 trophies total)
Top 150 participants (75 males and 75 females) will receive medals as follows:
  • 50 top times (25 males and 25 females) will received a Gold medal
  • Next 50 top times (25 males and 25 females) will receive a Silver medal
  • Next 50 top times (25 males and 25 females) will receive a Bronze medal
Club Points:
-Each participant counts 1 point towards their club (must finish the 5K)
-The 150 medalists will gain extra points for their club (Bronze=1 Silver=2 Gold=3 points).
-The 3 top performers (by age) will gain extra points for their club (Bronze=5 Silver=10 Gold=15).
**These points will count towards the final total points for each club at the end of the 3-day challenge.

Day 2 - Boot-Camp Endurance and Strength
Individual Awards:
This event awards highest number of push-ups per minute, sit-ups per minute, and burpies per minute. Only 1 representative per club for each type of exercise is allowed to participate. 
The top 3 performers per exercise will receive trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (9 trophies total). Top 150 participants (males or females) will receive medals in each category:
  • 50 participants with highest number of push ups, sit-ups and burpies per minute will receive a Gold medal
  • Next 50 participants with highest number will receive a Silver medal. 
  • Next 50 participants with highest number will receive a Bronze medal. 
  • *Males and females can compete for these 150 medals.
Club Points:
-Each participating club accumulates 1 point per exercise challenge.
-The top 150 medalists will add extra points to their club (Bronze=1 Silver=2 Gold=3 points). 

- Top 3 performers per exercise challenge will gain extra points for their club (Bronze=5 Silver=10 Gold=15). 
 
Day 3 - 1 Mile Race
Individual awards:
Top 3 overall (male and female) will win trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place by age as in Day 1.
Top 150 participants (75 males and 75 females) will receive medals as follows:
  • 50 top times (25 males and 25 females) will received a Gold medal
  • Next 50 top times (25 males and 25 females) will receive a Silver medal
  • Next 50 top times (25 males and 25 females) will receive a Bronze medal
Club Points
-Each participant counts 1 point towards their club (must finish the 5K)

-The 150 medalists will gain extra points for their club (Bronze=1 Silver=2 Gold=3 points)
-The 3 top performers (by age) will gain extra points for their club (Bronze=5 Silver=10 Gold=15). 

**These points will count towards the final total points for each club at the end of the 3-day challenge.

Overall 3-Day Challenge Awards
-Top 10 Clubs with highest overall scores (points accumulated for participation each day) will be awarded $500 each and receive a trophy.

-All pathfinders or club staff that participate on at least 2 of the 3 days will get a COOL InStep4Life 3-Day Challenge PATCH! (pictured above the QR Code)

**Attention Pathfinder Club Directors:

  • Once you submit the form above, please register your club participants under 18yo right here. Only those signed up by name on this link will be able to participate. Deadline is July 31 or sooner upon availability. 
  • Any pathfinders and club staff can register (there is a limit of 2000 participants per day, so register your club participants by name today to secure your place).
  • For Day 2 select up to 3 pathfinders or staff (staff may register and participate upon availability) for each of the 3 boot-camp challenges. Select a male or female that can do the most push-ups, sit-ups and/or burpies per minute (you may have the same person doing more than 1 exercise if needed).
  • A free webinar will take place in May and June to answer discuss how you can prepare your pathfinders for each challenge and accumulate the most points.

  • Registered Club directors/staff must show by 6:30pm or sooner each day of the Challenge to pick up their club packets/giveaways. A "no show" by 7am will forfeit their giveaways and participation in favor of others in the waiting list. The activity will begin promptly at 7:00am.
