New Hope SDA Church Located at 28 Edgecombe ave, New York,NY (on 135 st between St. Nicolas Ave and 8th Ave) in Harlem New York will have their own "Lets Move Day" event with a walk at 8:15 am on September 30th from 135 st on St. Nicolas ave to Central Park on 110th St. by the pond and the Skating ring. We will distribute track, pray with individuals and envite people from the community to join us on our instep for life program as we walk. All are welcome to join us.

Announcing a new series of Vegetarian Seminars, sponsored by REACH-NYC, starting this Sunday, September 30, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at our Seminar Center, located at Historic Manhattan Seventh-day Adventist Church, 232 West 11th Street, in beautiful Greenwich Village, New York City. Master Chefs will be with us, along with a Certified Diabetes Educator. This plant based seminar will introduce you to new recipes that are designed to help you and your family live a healthier and happier life. The series will be held in a large open community seminar space located within steps of our well stocked kitchen.
 
We encourage you to register early for this new series of seminars that will be held starting with our Fall Series. 6/17/2012; Run the River
As part of the Adventists InStep for Life initiative, the Lancaster church has also planned a Father’s day race. The race is “Run the River TN” and is a unique distance of 4.5 MILES. The course is also unique in that it is a point-to-point run along a river over rolling terrain, starting at the top of Center Hill Dam, and ending in the center of Lancaster at the church. It will be electronically timed.

The race will be held on June 17, 2012. Same-day registration begins at 6am; race begins at 8am. Road will be closed to vehicular traffic for two hours (8am to 10am). Online pre-registration is encouraged at Active.com. For more information and to participate go to http://www.runtherivertn.org.

May is Older Americans Month and the theme for 2012 is Never Too Old to Play, which encourages older Americans to stay engaged, active and involved in their communities. A Conference Call for Faith and Community Leaders about the Communities on the Move Video Challenge
 
On Wednesday, March 14th at 2:00 PM Eastern, Sam Kass, White House Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives, will join with faith and community leaders by conference call to invite participation in the Communities on the Move Video Challenge. The Video Challenge encourages faith-based and neighborhood organizations to create one-to-three minute videos highlighting their work to make their communities healthier. Winners will be invited to visit Washington, DC to share their videos with the First Lady at the White House. Organizations have until Friday, April 6th to enter the Video Challenge. The Challenge is part of Let's Move Faith and Communities, which engages congregations and neighborhood organizations in the effort to end childhood obesity within a generation.

Host a watch party to join us at the Let’s Move Faith and Communities event in Orlando, Florida: “Faith and Community Groups Leading the Way!” First Lady Michelle Obama will speak to a gathering of 3,000 people from diverse faiths at Northland, A Church Distributed, about the work of faith and community organizations across America to support healthy lifestyles. Mrs. Obama launched Let’s Move Faith and Communities in November 2010 and since then, these organizations have initiated a broad range of activities including logging over 1,500,000 miles walked and working to provide healthy food to their congregations.
